WHAT IS BASEBALL REP BALL ABOUT?
Rep Ball is about playing with a team that is competitive in nature but is also focused on developing fundamental skills. Playing on the Rep team means you are committed to practicing 2 days a week and playing in the Baseball Alberta Competitive League.
WHAT DATES WILL YOU PLAY YOUR GAMES?
Game Locations and times are determined by Baseball Alberta closer to the season.
HOW MANY GAMES DO WE PLAY IN A WEEKEND?
Generally you will play anywhere from 2-4 games in one weekend. All games during that weekend are generally played in the same location.
WHERE WILL WE PLAY OUR GAMES?
Baseball Alberta does its best to have games played as central as they can within each division.
Depending on who is in your division you could play in any of these places: Okotoks, Cochrane, Strathmore, Clive, Innisfail, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Lacombe, Camrose, Hanna, Leduc, Beaumont, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Stony Plain, Edmonton, or Fort Saskatchewan.
In May they will usually play your games in the most central location of the southern teams.
In June/July they will usually play in the most central location of the teams in your division depending on which teams have put in to host.
Provincials can be played anywhere in the province.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
All players pay an additional fee which includes the Baseball Alberta Fee and Umpire Fees.
Additional Costs: Meals, Hotel/Camping, Uniform (Socks/Belt/T-shirt), Team Costs
WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?
There are 10-14 players on the Rep Team. With such a small roster, commitment needs to be very high. Players are expected to attend ALL practices, games, and team functions as planned. If families are taking extended vacations or will miss multiple weekends during the season this needs to be discussed up-front. We do not want to take a spot from a full time player for a part time player.
